Marbo Seafood Restaurent 瑪寶鮮 perched at 3rd floor of Winfield Commercial Building, a small building at Tsim Sha Tsui. It is common in Hong Kong for restaurants to be located beyond the ground floor of tiny buildings.
As usual, the menu in the restaurant is in only traditional Chinese. As for the setup, it is typical Chinese restaurant setting with nothing out of the extraordinary to expect.
The table snack at Marbo Restaurant was fried salted peanut on the day of our visit.
Since we were in Hong Kong, roast meat is certainly a must. We ordered a plate of twin platter, Roasted Pork and BBQ Pork. It was a pity that the Roast Goose required advance order. I didn’t enjoy the roast meat at Marbo Seafood Restaurent. The Roasted Pork was too fatty while the BBQ Pork was lacking of the sweetish BBQ marinate flavour.
Kai Lan was stir-fried with vegetarian shrimp. I was surprised to find the vegetable to be so tasty and full of flavour. It was amazing as it has a strong dried shrimp flavour.
Our best deal of the meal was the Lobster Noodle. Though the gravy wasn’t filled with rich lobster flavour, we get to enjoy the Lobster by the side. Noodle has little or even no alkaline flavour which was good for me. I wouldn’t rate the noodle at excellent, certainly room for improvement exist. One good point was the gravy could be more flavourful with at least seafood flavour if not lobster.
Complimentary Double Boiled Chinese Pear and White Fungus was provided to diners at the end of the meal. We thought it was an awesome bowl of warm dessert.
NAHMJ Verdict
The Lobster Noodle is the must have since it is value for money.
