Bricks & Mortar Cafe is not on the ground floor. You have to climb a flight of steps to the second floor of 54 Tras Street. The cafe is owned by an asset management company occupying the same unit, allocating a corner to operate the Bricks & Mortar Cafe. If you are keen on some property news, you can still pick up a few leaflets at the cafe too.
It doesn’t has any hipster element in it, neither does it has any cool and flashy menu. Instead it offers a comfy environment with lots of cushy seats. Certainly great for working or me time, Moreover, Bricks & Mortar Cafe offered free wifi. The only disadvantage of the cafe is the furniture were too close. And I know, I know, you need to climb the stairs to get there.
Menu is kept extremely simple with mainly coffees. And you get various milk alternatives for your coffee too.
Some sandwiches, wraps and pastries were offered too. You can view and choose your pick from the counter.
The coffee was decent, low acidity and medium body with nutty flavour note.
I always prefer to pair my cappuccino with some munch and I got the Muesli Cookies (6 cookies for $3). Alternatively, you could go with the Almond Biscotti (10 for $3).
Bricks & Mortar Cafe is also equipped with LCD TV and it a great place to conduct meetings.
NAHMJ Verdict
Since Bricks & Mortar Cafe is hidden and away from the bustling activities. Certainly great for doing some work and lone time.
