Along Greenwood Ave, beside Rubato Restaurant, is a French cafe inspired by Claude Moet according to the description at Claude’s Cafe FB page. Some may start wondering who Claude Moet is. I am not certain if they are refering to the man behind Moët & Chandon. So much so … but strangely, I don’t get any sense of the feel at all. Anyway …
At the cafe, the clear glass counter was decked with beautiful delish looking quiches and sandwiches of various fillings. All look so tasty, I have a hard time deciding on what to choose.
If you needed something sweets, various cakes such as the typical Strawberry Shortcake, Yuzu Passionfruit, Chocolate Cake and waffles were available too.
Claude’s also offer some freshly baked loaves and pastries with selection of Sourdough, Baguette, Croissant, Crumble and Brownies.
If you are looking for the typical Breakfast Set such as Egg Benedict, fret not. It is also on the menu. 2 other selections such as the Big Breakfast and Scrambled Egg are offered too. Alternatively, Soup and Salad are available too.
Since I couldn’t decide what to have, I went with the recommendation of the Truffle Mushroom Quiche. The base was thin, flaky and buttery though a tad too dry. It was packed with
Claude’s offer a very comprehensive list of Drink Menu. Besides the usual coffee and the standard non-coffee drinks. It has a good list of Tea selection, offered Cold Press and Sparkling Juices.
Over at Claude’s, it uses Claude’s 4 Bean Blend consisting of 2 Brazil, 1 Columbia and 1 Sumatra bean. And it resulted in a smooth, rounded, full body, low acidity, palatable to the mouth cuppa.
Claude’s Cafe was pretty spacious with comfortable seat offering great bakes. A great addition to the area. Probably it would be a good competitor for Baker and Cooks.
