Yum Cha first restaurant was set up at Chinatown, now named as Yum Cha Chinatown as they have grown with 2 other outlets and delivery service, Yum Cha Express. The one at Chinatown remains very much a traditional tea house serving Dim Sum like in the olden days via the Dim Sum Pushcart Trolley.
If you would like to re-live or reminiscent the good old days, it is certainly a great restaurant to dine with family and friends.
For Dim Sum, Yum Cha serves mainly the Steamed Dim Sum and the Deep Fried Dim Sum. Together with Congee, Rice Roll and some Rice dishes and Desserts are served for variety as well.
Though been to Yum Cha for many times with my family for Dim Sum Brunch feasting, at neither session, we tried the Desserts as we tend to over order right from the start.
Steamed Dim Sum
About 27 variety of Steamed Dim Sum, we tried only about half of what was offered.

Cuttlefish and Peanut Congee
Shredded Chicken Congee
The congee texture was smooth and rather thick. It wasn’t too watery either. The flavour is very dependent on individual preference. Interestingly, I have yet to try the Century Egg and Lean Meat Congee.
Rice Dish and Desserts
None of the 3 rice dishes and none of the 12 desserts have we tried. I will ensure at my next visit, these will be my first to order.
Verdict
Prices versus quality and taste at Yum Cha Chinatown were reasonable. In fact, pretty value for money. At a classic tea house for breakfast with family is certainly a great way to spend the weekends together. And there is certainly something for everyone.
