Churn Creamery - Ice Cream Counter

Churn Creamery – Tanjong Pagar, Singapore (Closed)

Churn Creamery has taken over the space previously occupied by Restore Living Cafe. When I saw Restore Living gone, I know something new is on its way. Churn Creamery is the second ice cream parlour cafe after 5 The Moment. Interesting, one Ice Cream Parlour on each side of Tanjong Pagar Road.

Churn Creamery - By the side

Churn Creamery is like the plain jane next door. No extravagant professional designed cafe. Only decked in simple picnic wooden table and chairs. And a ice cream counter displaying the flavours of the day.

Churn Creamery - Available Ice Cream Flavours

I sampled 3 flavours, none of the fruity or sobert ones. Speculoos was one of my choice since recently I was still relishing over the spectacular piece of Speculoos Cheesecake from Dutch Colony at the Pasar Bella. Next, Pistachio. I was offered to try the Hazelnut and why not.

Churn Creamery - Menu

At Churn Creamery, the flavours are classified as either premium or supreme with the later priced. On cone, in pint or with waffle. Beverages are limited to tea, float and milkshakes. No coffee found.

Churn Creamery - My Order, Waffle with Pistachio and Spectaculoos Ice Cream

I ordered the waffle with Pistachio and Spectaculoos Ice Cream. Ice Cream flavour was packed and intense with a dense and smooth texture. It wasn’t overly creamy. A good balance was achieved.

Churn Creamery doesn’t offer the airy, crispy kind of waffle but a little denser with a subtle fragrance. It doesn’t drizzle maple syrup over the waffle which was a little disappointing. But as I start to degust them, I noted the extra tiny honeycomb bites which came as a surprise. It compensated for the missing maple syrup. But I certainly hope Churn Creamery could sprinkle more over the waffle.

Churn Creamery - Halloween Special in a Cone

I was after the molten chocolate cone at my second visit to Churn Creamery. It wasn’t so much for the ice cream but the chocolate lined cone.

Look at how much chocolate was in the cone. Do remember to chose a flavour that will go well with the chocolate. This will increase the enjoyment experience.

Oh ya, and free wifi is available at the cafe too.

Verdict & NAHMJ Favourite

I sampled 3 flavours and all were to my liking. Personally, I find the nutty flavoured ice cream to be more outstanding. Both Pistachio and Hazelnut were equally awesome. Having the ice cream either with waffle or cone are recommended, depending on preference.
