Bugis Cube is where The Delights Heaven perched its bakery and retail at. Very much a takeaway outlet as it only has a table and four chair for customer should they wish to dine in.
The design of the corner of the table is warm and homely. It is indeed very much like the dining corner of a home.
At various corner of the bakery, you can find lovely fondant cakes on display. Such as the one above. Isn’t it lovely?
Menu
At The Delights Heaven, it is helmed by a pastry chef graduated with a Patisserie Diploma from Le Cordon Bleu, Australia.
The bakery specialises in customised Fondant cakes for all occasions.
Over at the retail end, you can find some cakes, puff and macaroons for sales too. On the day of my visit, there was Tiramisu, Carrot Cake, Earl Grey & Honey Raspberry Panna Cotta, Pumpkin Creme Brulee, Brownie Cheescake and assorted macaroon flavours and a few others.
Cakes & Pastries
Carrot Cake was moderately moist and a little bland. There wasn’t enough spice in the cake. Luckily, they were generous with the amount of carrot and walnut. I wouldn’t mind if they were more generous with the cream cheese frosting.
Earl Grey Panna Cotta was a hit with the tasters. We love the smooth, creamy and great tasting Earl Grey flavour. The crumble provided some crunch resulting in a not too boring dessert.
Tiramisu with Kahlua was my third selection. Since it was my brother’s favourite, I never failed to get him one for the expert to verify the taste.
It was a cute pot of sapling with a spade as a spoon. Simply like gardening at a mini scale.
Macaroons
There were 7 flavours when I was at The Delights Heaven. I didn’t get all seven to try but 3 flavours; Salted Caramel, Rose and Passionfruit (from left, clockwise in the photo).
I didn’t find the macaroons outstanding at all. In fact, I would rate it as one of the lousy ones. The look of the macaroons were perfect but some what the texture was not quite right. The top shell was indeed crisp but the centre of the macaroons shell was hard like biscuit. It wasn’t the fluffy crunchy kind of texture that I experience in most macaroons. The cream was pretty average. Maybe it was the shell that disappointed me too much and I care little about the cream or ganache.
Maybe it was just that batch of bake. Maybe it was meant to be. Anyway, I didn’t enjoy.
Verdict
Out of the few that I tried were with more misses than hits. In short, it was disappointing. Maybe it is just not my cup of “bake” or maybe it was not my day.
