Bibing Korean Dessert Cafe Singapore – Smith Street, Chinatown Singapore

Bibing 비빙 is the latest kid jumping onto the Singapore Bingsoo bandwagon. This Korean Dessert cafe is very strategically located, since it is in the heart of Chinatown Singapore. It occupied one of the shophouse along Smith Street. With already 2 Korean Dessert Cafe in the Chinatown vicinity, Bibing still tries their luck to test the threshold.

Bibing - Front

The first item that I noted when I entered the cafe was the “tree”. It is like travelling through the seasons, Spring, Summer and Autumn. If you examine closely, you will notice the “trees” are with real tree branches and artificial flowers and leaves attached to it. Though these are a creative ornament, at the same time, it make the cafe feel cram.

Bibing - Interior

Personally, I would prefer the “tree” to be removed.

Bibing - By a corner

There is also a private corner with two semi circle tables and 2 stools.

Menu

Bibing is not offerring much on its menu. Even with Bingsu as the feature in the cafe, there isn’t much flavours. There are a total of 6 with 3 premium bingsu. The Bingsu comes with Ice Cream, 4 flavours; Pitaschio Almond, French Vanilla, Triple Chocolate and Salted Caramel.

And you get some Toast too, 4 flavours. Drinks are also found on the menu with Coffee, Milk and Tea.

Bibim Bingsu

I was stumbled at the menu for a long moment. No knowing what I should order. Finally, Bibing Bibim Bingsu, I thought it would be good.

Bibing - Bibim

We tried the colourful, instagram worthy Bibim ($18). This is a healthy version with fruits and nuts. It is a Bibimbap version of Bingsu. They have created an egg in the centre too; using yogurt for the egg white and apricot as the yolk. Mixed it well before eating. I chose Pistachio Almond for the Ice Cream.

The shaved ice was fine, soft and flavourful. But since most of the fruits used were sourish, we needed more condensed Milk to sweetened it. We like this innovative creation.

The Pistachio Almond Ice Cream was pretty outstanding too; smooth, creamy with nuttiness Pistachio flavour and Almond crunch.

Verdict

Though the Bibim was pretty expensive but we like the fineness of the shaven milk ice. Personally, I hope they could come up with more creative flavours of Bingsu too. I am planning to try their toast soon too.
