2&Twenty Dessert Cafe is located at the The Sail Basement Shopping Mall is within the Singapore business district area.
It is almost like a hole in a wall. From the entrance, with a glance, you see the entire interior of the dessert cafe.
Menu
On its menu, it has one type of desserts with variation to offer as you can mixed and match the ingredients to come up with your customized cup. Like the mix and match dessert out there, the method is very much the same. First you choose your base from Soya, Grass Jelly and Soya + Grass Jelly for those who can’t decide. Next either 3 or 4 toppings at $3 and $4 respectively. There are 11 toppings for selection.
If you are feeling lazy to do your mix and match, you can choose from their Signature Combo.
A1 White Night: Base – Soya; Toppings – Taro Q, Red Bean, Lychee and Aloe Vera
A2 Black Swan: Base Grass Jelly; Toppings – Chendol, Longan, Sweet Potato Q and Attap Chee
A3 B & W: Base: Soya + Grass Jelly; Toppings – Taro Q, Coco De Nata, Magic Pops Mango and Soft Peanut
You will find Propaganda Popsicle with 6 flavours at 2 pricings, $4 and $5. On top of these, there are some drinks too.
2&Twenty also serves some simple Toasties and Coffee for breakfast and Lunch Set too.
Dessert
I got a Signature Combo, A2, Black Swan and a Mix & Match for sharing.
Mixed and Match (Grass Jelly & Soya Base, Sweet Potato Q, Taro Q, Magic Pop Mango and Aloe Vera Toppings)
We find the taste of the available ingredients too similar in the taste. There isn’t any ingredients that could bring out the flavour of the dessert though the Magic Pop Mango taste good. In short, most tasted only sweet.
Popiscle
I got distracted by the Popsicle; contemplated for a few good minutes whether to get one. Finally, I got won over and got hold of the Pure Coconut, though it wasn’t my first choice. I wanted the Mango Coconut but was out of stock.
I like the Coconut flavour with the finely grated coconut. The flavour is pretty moderate.
Verdict
The three tasters conclude unanimously that they need to have some ingredients that could enhance the taste. Though individually, each ingredient on its own is indeed tasty, somehow when combine none bring out the best of the other. The taste is somewhat flat. Some improvement is indeed required. Since not much dessert choice in the area, nonetheless a good alternative.
