Lepark - Interior

Lepark – People’s Park Complex, Chinatown Singapore

Lepark has occupied the space which was left vacant for quite some time. It is a pretty huge space at a section across People’s Park Complex Level 6, carpark level.

Lepark - Entrance

Entrance into Lepark looks very much like getting into a garage. One might thought it was closed and turned away. Luckily there is a sign on the metal slide door indicating that they are open.

When I stepped into Lepark, I thought I was entering a funky canteen. It was decorated with some eccentric colours. The furnitures looks very much like they were recycled.

Lepark - Craft Beer

Lepark is kind of divided into 2 sections; a bar for drinks and a kitchen for food. You don’t find the standard soft drinks such as Coke and 7Up. Instead Snapple and bottled water and lots of Craft Beers.

LePark - Lunch and Mains Menu

Menu of Lepark has a pretty fusion or contemporary styled dishes. We spotted a number of creative dishes such as Wonton Mee Slider. Very quickly, we picked the dishes with some of our favourite ingredients such as lobster, mushroom and eggs.

LePark - Bar Grubs and Signatures Menu

Lepark is fullied self-service, from ordering to collection of food and drinks. What we didn’t really appreciate was we need to place our food and drinks order at different counter.

Lepark All-day Brunch

We chose a dish out of 3 from the Lepark All-day Brunch. We went for Braised Mushroom with Truffle Hollandaise Benedict. This is a vegetarian dish.

Lepark - Braised Mushroom with Truffle Hollandaise Benedict

When the food was on the table, there wasn’t any Truffle scent. Moreover, I couldn’t taste any Truffle fragrance either. Both the egg yolks were runny. That we applauded. In this dish, we enjoyed the Fried Sweet Potato Fries most.

Lepark Mains

Likewise, there are 3 mains and we ordered 1. We went for the Slippery Lobster Tom Yum Cream Pasta.

Lepark - Slippery Lobster Tom Yum Cream Pasta

Texture was creamy as the name suggested. It was slightly sourish and not at all spicy. I wouldn’t mind if the Tom Yum flavour to be stronger.

Lepark Bar Grub

Since beer is served in Lepark, it is befitting to have tempting tapas that complement wholly with beer. We do see quite a number that assurdly will serve that purpose.

Lepark - Stuffed Crispy Taupok with Thai Basil Pork

Our first choice was the Stuffed Crispy Taupok with Thai Basil Pork. And indeed the Taupok was crispy. We find that there is room for improvement for the Thai Basil Pork. A little more Basil and a less salty will be perfect.

Lepark - Pepper Salt Crispy Chicken Skin

Pepper Salt Crispy Chicken Skin was the other item we experimented. Nothing originally, but no it harmonizes with beer.

Lepark Signatures

Finally, we moved on to the Lepark Signatures. 3 on the list, we ordered 2. On hindsight, we should order the last on the list too.

Lepark - Triple Pork Skewer

Mixed reviewed for the Triple Pork Skewer. Among the three diners, there was like, dislike and neutral. I belong to the ‘like’ group. I like the sweetish smokey soy sauce with a strong nutty fragrance. The ‘dislike’ was due to the strong nuttiness emitted from the pork.

Lepark - SEY (Salted Egg Yolk) Soft Shelled Crab Slider

Unanimously was our comment on the SEY (Salted Egg Yolk) Soft Shelled Crab Slider. Increase the amount and intensity of the salted egg yolk.

Final Verdict

Causual ambience, great for chill out even with large group. A number of dishes great with beer and even mains to fill your stomach too. Though there are some hits and misses, some tuning may be needed to further improve. Nonetheless, we would rate the food as above average. Lastly, we certainly hope Lepark would provide some decent utensils instead of the plastics one. And please have ice for the drinks too.

One good news for pet owners, Lepark allows pets to dine together at their Al Fresco seats.
