Langham Place Hotel Mongkok is a 5-stars hotel, located at Mongkok. Do not be confused with its sister hotel, Langham Hotel which is at Tsim Sha Tsui.
I have stayed at this hotel for at least 5 times before doing this review. Ranging from 2 nights to 3 weeks stay.
Location
Langham Place Hotel Mongkok is located above Mongkok MTR. It is also next to Langham Place Shopping Mall, linked via a bridge at the hotel lobby. It is also a stone throw from a number of attractions such as Ladies Street. All in all, the location is superb.
Hotel Lobby
The lobby is not located on the ground level but about 3 level, known as “L” level. When you arrived at the ground floor, take the lift. Any lift will do.
Check In / Check Out
Staff at the Check-in and check-out counters of Langham Place Hotel Mongkok were extremely friendly and warm. And they are very chatty too. All of them could strike simple English conversation.
Concierge
The concierge service in terms of delivering luggage to the room is very efficient. Under 10 minutes, after you stepped into the room, you will receive your luggage.
For me the best was I could store my luggage with the hotel while I took spend a night at Macau. This service is really important for me.
Room
The room in Langham Place Hotel Mongkok is generally comfortable. My complaint is the bed which isn’t extremely comfortable as it sunk-in at the centre. Most of their beds has this problem. I suspect, they are a little too old. Time for change.
Bathroom are filled with amenities. Unfortunately, the housekeeping didn’t seems to clean the bathtub as usually there were a layer of dust or strands of hairs. In addition, I could spot strands of hairs around the bathroom too. Personally, I think the housekeeping could do a better job.
Some of the amenities in the rooms are flat screen TV with lots of international and local channels, minibar, a desk, safe, kettle and they provide complimentary coffee and tea and drinking water too. And WiFi too.
Other Facilities and Restaurants
The hotel has a gym with pretty new and sufficient equipment.
… and a 20m lap heated swimming pool. One end at 1.3m deep and the other at 2.0m deep. It is opened daily from 6.30am to 11pm.
There is also a Chuan Spa at Level 41 for guests to enjoy a nice massage after a tiring day.
You could find 4 different dining at the hotel with a 2 star Michelin Chinese restaurant, Ming Court; Alibi for wine and dine; Tokoro, a Japanese restaurant and lastly, The Backyard for casual alfresco dining.
Services
In a nutshell, service was excellent. All staff will work towards fulfilling guests expectation and requests. (Of course, guests has to be making reasonable requests.)
Price
I do think the price is steep for Langham Place Hotel Mongkok. It costs around 2300 HKD per night. The price really depend on the demand during the period you book too. You need to stay a minimum of three nights to get more saving (up to 15%).
Conclusion
Given the location, services, rooms and facilities, despite the expensive room price, I would still choose to stay with the Langham Place Hotel Mongkok.
