Rookery Cafe & Bar is located at the ground floor of Hong Leong Building, facing Lau Pa Sat. The ambience of the cafe is lively and somewhat a little industrial theme and with a bar or pub-like feel.
I went during lunch. Rookery has two menu, one for Brunch and Lunch which they called it the Day Menu, the other menu for dinner that is the Night Menu.
For the Day Menu, there are Brunch items and others lunch items you can find on the menu are Salad, Pasta, Sandwiches and Desserts.
I tried two of their signature items; the Spanish Chorizo Hash and the Pulled Pork Ragout Linguine. Both were outstanding.
The Linguine used were made fresh in-house daily. They looked a little fatter than the ones you usually find. It tasted a little softer too. But are certainly fresh and awesome.
Besides the usual tea and coffee, you can get a beer or other alcoholic drinks at Rookery too. I went for the usual tea and coffee as I do not drink. I tried the Peach Tea which has a good tea taste and lightly peachy flavour. And it wasn’t too sweet for me. The coffee was of dark roast, robust in taste, high body, low acidity with hint of dark cocoa and nutty flavour. My brother would love such coffee.
NAHMJ Verdict
I like the friendly and warm service, the food but not so much of the ambience as it gets very noisy when it reaches 70% occupied. I suppose that’s the way a Bar works. I am keen to try the food served during dinner. I will certainly be back to try.
