Looks like Upper Paya Lebar is growing with more cafe, good news to those working around the industrial estate.
23 Jumpin Cafe is one of the few that chose to open its door at the industrial estate. It is located at the ground floor of The Commerze. Within the same row, facing Irving Road, there are a few other cafes.
The setting of the cafe is extremely simple with some decent wooden tables and chairs and a couch by a corner. Nothing fanciful. The menu is also simple with only a few dishes for the main, desserts, brunch and so on.
I was at 23 Jumpin for late lunch and so the lunch crowd was over. I deliberated over the Spicy Chicken Burger and Pork Goulash Stew with Baguette.
For the price, the portion was huge. I didn’t expect such a big portion. And I was surprised to find chicken thigh meat in the burger instead of breast meat. It was well marinated with spice, slightly spicy and very flavourful. The side salad was equally excellent. Though it was a simple vinaigrette, the sweet and sourish taste was of well balance.
I have read a number of good reviews of the Jumpin’s Original Cotta so decided to give it a try for myself. For dark chocolate lover, this is a must have when you are at 23Jumpin. You could taste the bitter sweet of the dark chocolate, smooth like mousse but much more firm. With the slightly sweetened cookies crunch topped on the panna cotta added and extra texture.
Lastly, the coffee. As usual, I went for Cappuccino. The coffee is of low acidity, medium to full body, medium aroma with a chocolaty, nutty hint. It tasted very close to Dutch Colony beans but it wasn’t. I happened to have a chat with one of the service crew which I suppose he is the owner. I was told that they use Brazil beans and it was roasted locally by his friend.
I enjoyed the food served at 23Jumpin. Pricing was reasonable and portion was huge and most importantly it was conveniently located, a stone throw from the MRT station. In addition, the service crew was friendly and warm.

i just ate there over the weekend. There are a lot of similar cafes along the ground floor of Commerze, I really hope it works out for them! It was good, but I wouldn’t say the portions were huge, at least not for the pork goulash stew, the eggs benedict, the bangers and mash, or the duck confit. the burger was priced much more cheaply compared to the other dishes though! Thanks for introducing the place- good find
Hi Jared,
Thanks for the comment and you are most welcome. Indeed, there are other choices at the Commerze but I haven’t tried them.
As for the portion, I have not tried the rest such as the ones you mentioned. But I suppose comparatively, the burger may be bigger. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I enjoyed your different view. Hope to hear from you again. Keep your sharing coming. 🙂
