Salty Peanut Gelato - Menu

Salty Peanut Gelato At East Village

In recent months, there are a number of Halal cafe sprawling throughout Singapore and Salty Peanut Gelato is one of them, setting up at the East Village.

Salty Peanut Gelato - Interior

My brother was excited when he got to know another ice parlour with waffles. While I was still recovering from my flu, he dragged me along to test it out. I could never resist the charm of ice cream so I went along.

The cafe is rather tiny with very limited number of seats. When we arrived at the gelato cafe, the inside seats were fully occupied except for those outside. On the walls, there were some old retro cameras, and pictures of some retro cartoon characters.

Despite its small size in capacity, there is no lack in flavours selection. There were about a dozen of flavours. Each of us tried a number flavours before settling for our beloved. I tried the non-fruity while my brother is a fan of fruity ice cream, tried almost all that were available.

Salty Peanut Gelato - Sea Salt Gula Melaka

A few of the more outstanding flavours (among those we tried) were Salty Peanut (tasted very much like peanut butter), Sea Salt Gula Melaka and Mango Tango.  As for the texture, it was certainly smooth and creamy.

This round, I restricted myself to a single scoop. I went for Sea Salt Gula Melaka.

Salty Peanut Gelato - Double Scoops (Mixed Berries and Mango Tango) with Waffle

While my brother has the Mixed Berry and of course the Mango Tango on waffle. The waffle is slightly crispy, good amount of eggy flavour, soft and fluffy with a good denseness of texture and slightly sweetish. It kind of melted in the mouth. This is definitely the best we have in recent months. Though lots of chocolate sauce was drizzled over the waffle, we still missed the maple syrup.

As usual, beside offering gelato and waffles, the cafe offer some drinks, both hot and cold.

We enjoyed everything about Salty Peanut, the food, the warm, patient and friendly service as well as the decor. I am sure we will return.
