My ex-colleague asked me out for a dinner at Milagro Spanish Restaurant at Orchard Central as she purchased a Groupon. And of course I would accept the invitation without any hesitation.
We ordered a total of 4 Tapas and 2 desserts. Surprsingly, we were filled to the brim at the end of the dinner.
The first Tapas served was the Champignon Mushrooms al Ajillo (Mushrooms). There was a choice of Spicy or Non-Spicy. We chose Spicy but I didn’t find it spicy at all. It has mainly the natural mushroom taste with lightly herb flavour.
Similar to the mushroom, the Prawns al Ajillo was in its natural goodness. Not much of seasoning in the Tapas.
Follwed by the Buffalo Wings with Valdeón Cheese. There was a choice of with or without the cheese. We choose the one with Cheese. The cheese dip is made with blue cheese. My ex-colleague didn’t like the cheese dip but I like it. I find that the Buffalo Wings tasted so much better with the cheese dip. Somehow the cheese dip enhanced the taste of marinated seasonings in the chicken.
The Octopus a la Gallega was surprisingly very tender. It was with only slightly chewiness. Both of us enjoyed this dish.
How could we missed out on desserts? We have Tiramisu in A Jar and Chocolate Lava Cake. We thought that this was one of the best Tiramisu. The sponge cake was moist; soaked with enough of coffee and alcohol. It has all the elements it required to make it excellent.
Comparatively, the Chocolate Lava Cake didn’t fare as well as the Tiramisu. We like the Chocolate Lava Cake but not the ice cream. As we didn’t enjoy the cinnamon taste. The chocolate cake was rich in chocolaty aroma but it was a little dry.
Milagros Spanish Restaurant has a casual dinning environment. There was a wide selection of tapas. For the menu, click here. The food is not richly infused with seasoning. We enjoyed our dinner and of course the catching up.
