After being forced to stay at home by the haze on Saturday as it was into the unhealthy level, again, I can’t wait to go cafehopping. Luckily it was back to the moderate range on Sunday afternoon and I went cafehopping with my brother. So glad. This round we explored the far north. Interestingly, soon after our conversation about how come there was not cafe in area like Sembawang and Yishun, there are a number popping into the scene. Our first stop was Mootime.
The design in Mootime are simple and sleek. The entire cafe is mainly white with some decorative pictures of tree and leaves on some walls and with some plastic grass patch around the counter to make the cafe to look like a garden. There are two sofa by the glass panel and the rest were white wooden tables with stools. And there was a pair of cute cow cushion on each sofa.
Though they have some cheesecake as well but we were more interested in their waffles and ice cream. I got myself a scoop of Gula Gao Gao Melaka, a waffles for sharing and two scoops of ice cream, Tiramisu and Blueberry Cheesecake for my brother.
We felt that that the ice cream flavour were a little too light though it was creamery and smooth. The waffles belongs to the more dense kind with a good crispy edge and a little eggy taste. We think that the waffles fared better than the ice cream.
As usual, drinks are offered in the Mootime as well, with the usual Espresso-based drinks and some cold drinks.
We like the ambience as it was spacious and was pretty quiet when were there. We lingered and chat while enjoying the food, quite a nice cosy little place.
It was followed by RoyceMary Cafe.
