Les Patisseries At Toa Payoh – Toa Payoh, Singapore (Shifted)

I have a sweet tooth so I am glad that Les Patisseries came to the scene. This Patisseries is located at Toa Payoh Central though a little further from the MRT station and Bus Interchange, still pretty easy to locate

Les Patisseries - Interior

The design is pretty simple, nothing fanciful. Some simple tables and chairs with a few Al Fresco seats for those who loves the outdoor or even the sun.

Les Patisseries - My Order, Cappuccino & French Apple Tart

I ordered a Cappuccino and the French Apple Tart. Since the coffee beans was from Pacamara, similiar to Oz Specialty Coffee, it is for certainly great coffee. As for the French Apple Tart, it was amazingly light, I mean the weight. Tastewise, I didn’t quite like the French Apple Tart. As the tart base though sweetish while the apple is sourish and the crispy crunch of the fresh apple still maintain, somehow it doesn’t blend in taste. There isn’t any cream or custard in the tart and both the apple and tart were rather dry.

Les Patisseries - My Takeaway, Salmon Quiche, Hazelnut Tart, Tiramisu, Strawberry Shortcake, Planisar

Despite I didn’t enjoy the French Apple Tart, I still went ahead to get more pastries and cakes. I got a Salmon Quiche, Hazelnut Tart, Tiramisu for my brother, Plaisir and a Strawberry Shortcake. All, except the Tiramisu as I didn’t try, was exceptionally delicious. In particular, the Salmon Quiche was excellent though the tart was a little dry. The Hazelnut has a good nutty, chocolaty hazelnut tart with lots of hazelnut crunch. A little lesser caramel on the top would be perfect. The Plaisir and Strawberry Shortcake were as good as the rest. I was glad to try more items.

The cakes and pastries, except the French Apple Tart, served at Les Pastisseries were delish. I would certainly return for more.

  1. We were overjoyed by Les Patisseries at first but that soon turned to horror… You see, their food is ok… but we live just two floors above them… and on many Friday and Saturday nights, they showed us NO MERCY. Our building has a coffee shop and in 10 years of living here, even thought it serves alcohol, it causes us no social problems. In less than two months, with no alcohol served, Les Patisseries breaks local by-laws by putting in double or more the number of outdoor seats… and the resulting rowdy night crowd screams and hollers well past 10:00pm… making it impossible to sleep or watch TV even with all windows closed… We told them about the problem in October, but by early December, we and several other neighbours were forced to call the police on them. Even after we reported it to HDB’s commercial unit, they were caught using an NTUC supermarket shopping cart to store restaurant garbage… this afternoon, we took a pic of the front of their restaurant… it clearly had more than the 3 outdoor tables allowed by law… the pic has been passed on to HDB… getting ready for another Friday night of rowdy outdoor customers? Don’t care if you disturb the whole neighbourhood again ???

    1. Hi EJ Brooks,
I am so sorry to hear that. But I certainly hope the matter will resolve in the best manner for both parties.
