The Little Flower Shop Cafe & Bar - Sweet Canapes Set

The Little Flower Shop Cafe & Bar at Lau Pau Sat, Sweet and Lovely

As Lau Pa Sat has finally re-opened after a period of renovation, I went down to explore and find The Little Flower Shop Cafe & Bar.

The Little Flower Shop Cafe & Bar - Cafe Interior

The Little Flower Shop Cafe & Bar is all about flowers. It started as a humble florist; with a great vision and passion, it now branched into the cafe arena. The team wanted all that are served in this little sweet and pretty cafe with food infused with flowers, from the cakes, pastries, savoury canapes, bread used in their samdwiches, ice cream, tea and even biscotti has some form of flowers. I like the innovative concept and creative idea. Something unique that is still not available in the Singapore F&B space.

I was mesmerized by the decoration and design of the shop. It is like dinning in a garden.

It is not seving extensive food but each on the menu were well thought. Each and every food served were with great collaboration with their bakers.

As I wanted to try as much stuff as I could, I ordered a sweet canape set. There were 4 bite sized sweet canapes and 2 macarons. It comes with a cup of hot or cold tea.

In the canapes set, there are a rose cake, a brownie with peppermint cream cheese frosting, Lavender Proferiole and a Roselle with wolfberry jelly.

I like the jelly best. It was slightly chrwy, tasted like ribena and with a wolfberry in the jelly, there was a fruit crunch.

The is a bitter hint, very slight in the Lavender Proferiole due to the Violet flower, I suppose some may find this a little unpleasant.

For the macarons, you can choose from about 10 flavours. I was very indecisive as I couldn’t imagine what the taste would be like as these are unfamiliar ingredients. I was given a mini Cornflower macaron (blue coloured) to try and it was great. There was a subtle fragrance as you munch more the Earl Grey Tea started to emit.

Finally I decided on the Orange Flower and Hisbiscus macaroon. After trying the two, I still like the Cornflower best. I highly recommend this. The Orange Flower and the Hisbiscus were a little sweeter than the Cornflower. The Orange Flower has a white chocolate filling. There were some with butter cream.

The Little Flower Shop Cafe & Bar - Vert Malesheba Tea

The tea has a very good scent of fruitiness, sweet fragrance. No sugar is required, unless you have very sweet tooth.

The Little Flower Shop Cafe & Bar - The Lavender Ice Cream

I was given a scoop of Lavender Ice Cream on the house. This was by far the best Lavender ice cream. It has a good amount of Lavender. It emitted a very subtle fragrance. The more you eat, the more the fragrance concentrated in the mouth. It is not too sweet which was good.

I was glad to find this little gem. Highly, highly recommended to all to try.
