Rouse Cafe on Dunlop, Cool and Hip (Closed)

Rouse Cafe is on Dunlop Road, along with Flee Away. It has a different theme from its neighbour. It has a rustic and to certain extend raw finish, but not as raw as Sin Lee Foods.

Rouse Cafe - Cafe Interior

Some of the furniture used were also raw material. Crate boxes were used as table and placed in the centre of the cafe. The chairs were very mixed and match.

Rouse Cafe though it does not have a wide selection.

Rouse Cafe - Food and Drink Menu

It serves some very interesting food such as Beef Asparagus, Crabby Patty and a few others.

Rouse Cafe - More Food Menu

Decision was tough, all sounded so delicious and so I finally settled for the Crabby Patty.

Rouse Cafe - My Lunch, Crabby Patty

The presentation looks very appetising. I like the dish as there was lots of greens. There were two sizeable crab patty with mango salsa on top of the patty. The patties were crispy on the outside. The entire patty were filled with crab meat. It was well seasoned. When ate with the mango salsa and the spicy thousand island sauce, it was tangy and delicious. In short, the combination went really well. I tried spreading the crab patty on the bread, I didn’t feel that it blended well. The salad was a Caesar Salad. There were more thousand island sauce by the side, in case you need more. If you do not take spicy food, you might want to ask for no sauce to be drizzled on the patty.

My Drink, Iced Lemon Earl Grey Tea
My Drink, Iced Lemon Earl Grey Tea

I ordered a Iced Lemon Earl Grey Tea instead of my regular Cappuccino. It was a normal Ice Lemon Tea. The service crew informed me about their set menu that starts on 9 July, Wednesday. The set consists of a main and an iced tea, priced at $19.90. I think it really is valued for money versus Ala Carte at $24.40. There are four selection for the main; Quinoa Quake, Crabby Patty, Beef Wrapped Asparagus and Open-Faced Roast Beef Sandwich.

Rouse on Dunlop is a nice hippy cafe that seems like on the dark side from outside the cafe. It serves delicious food. I see that they provide some power outlet for diners too. If you going for dinner, remember to make reservation as it is by reservation only. No gate crash. I am keen to try their desserts at the next visit.
