Sin Lee Foods At Bukit Ho Swee, Rustic – Tiong Bahru, Singapore (Closed)

I was contemplating of whether to have lunch at Sin Lee Foods or at The Tastemaker Store. Both are within walking distance from the Tiong Bahru MRT station. Finally, I decided to have lunch at Sin Lee Foods at Jalan Bukit Ho Swee. It was a tough choice.

Sin Lee Foods - Cafe Front

I suppose Sin Lee Foods is also using some old store as it has an ancient looking signboard hanging at the cafe front. Looks like the coming trend for cafe is into revamping the old legacy stores and turning them into wonderful cafe and retaining the memories of the many childhood or the past of decades of Singaporean. This is really great if more are into doing so.

Sin Lee Foods - An Art Piece

The looks and feel of the cafe, feels raw and rustics, from the walls to the tables and the side benches to the lighting. Interestingly, they have placed a piece of Art that blended with the theme of the cafe so well. You may missed the Art piece.

Sin Lee Foods - Outdoor Seats

Sin Lee Foods also provided some outdoor seats as an option.

I like the dishes served in Sin Lee Foods. All sounded so delish and interesting. I would love to try them all. One of the dish that I saw it on every table was the Sin Lee’s Fried Chicken & Waffles. It looks very good, especially the Fried Chicken. I overheard from the diners at the next table, giving full of praise for this dish. So I think it is a must try at my next visit.

Sin Lee Foods - My Lunch, Raspberry Iced Tea & Unami Brioche

For a change, instead my regular Cappuccino, I ordered a Iced Raspberry Tea and Unami Brioche. I love Brioche so it was a no-brainer for me. The Raspberry Tea was with very slight Raspberry flavour and it was very slightly sweetish.

The Unami consist of two slices of Brioche (thickness similar to Gardenia White Bread) with creamy button mushroom, sauteed spinach, a deep fried bacon and sauteed potatoes. On top of these, there is my beloved Sunny Sided-Up. It was lightly drizzled with some fine salt. The entire dish was very well done with a very nice and appetising presentation. The Unami was of a decent serving size. I would prefer the Brioche to be a little thicker so that I could taste more of the fluffy bread texture. Some diners may find it too salty.

Before proceeding to the order counter, after you have decided on what you want, you need to take note of the table number. It is indicated on the table top by the side.

Final thoughts of Sin Lee, definitely an welcome addition to this estate, injection some vibrant energy to this old estate. I am looking forward to more cafe flourishing in these old estate.
