Yellow Cup Coffee Cafe at Central Square, along Havelock Road is in between Chinatown and Clark Quay. It is at the edge of a ERP gantry so it means if you don’t mind walking, you could avoid the ERP charges. As the name suggested, the cups are uniformly in sunshiny yellow.
As today is Ascension day, a day of obligation (simply it means that it is a day that Catholic must attend mass, just like any Sundays) and as usual I was roster for the 7am mass. Mass ended at around 7.30am so I was still very early for work. I decided to turn up at Yellow Cup Coffee for a hearty breakfast as it was two bus stops away from the church.
If you want to know which church I attended, looked up on the map. lol Or through the simpler way, “ask”, drop me a message and I will tell you. 🙂 For now, I will not tell.
Yellow Cup Coffee is a a result of New York inspiration, so you can expect lots of New York factors, icons and ornaments in the cafe.
This is another cafe that is serving all my favourite food.
I simply love them all, from waffles to the smoked salmon sandwich to the pastries and of course the coffee.
Yellow Cup Coffee has two types of beans (Nicaragua and Sumatra Long Berry) but today they ran out of Sumatra Long Berry which I wanted to try. But I am fine with Nicaragua too.
I could never resist smoked salmon, so it was an easy choice for me. I have a Scandinavian Smoked Salmon Croissant Sandwich for breakfast. It was with a salad by the side. The Croissant was pretty huge. The croissant was flaky on the outside and soft in the inside and buttery too. There was a thin layer of cream cheese spread on the croissant.
The coffee was great. It has a medium round body with hint of chocolate and slight fruitiness and subtle taste of caramel. According to the coffee bean menu display, Nicaragua has cherry, cocoa, butter scotch and maple hint.
As I still have some time, I leisurely enjoyed my coffee while browsing The National Geographic magazine.
Yellow Cup Coffee has a special creation known as the Croiffin, since it is their signature and it sounded so special, I definitely have to try it so as usual the gluttony at work. And so I picked up one. Take a look at the photo on the Anatomy of a Croiffin and you will know what its make up.
Yellow Cup Coffee has a pretty spacious shop with superb food which is suitable for Breakfast, Lunch and even Dinner and definitely great coffee too. It has free WiFi too. I will return for the Sumatra Long Berry coffee soon.
