Elffin & Elffin - Pop Art

Elffin & Elffin At Haji Lane, Bugis, Singapore, For the Art Lovers (Closed)

Finally, I made it to Elffin & Elffin, the Art Gallery Cafe at Haji Lane. The Shophouse where the cafe is suited is brightly coloured with turquoise and orange.

Elffin & Elffin - Shop House

As I entered, the first floor of the cafe, it looked rather primitive as it is with cemented floor. As I walked into the cafe, it brighten up as there are some coloured ornaments in the cafe that created the brighten effect.

After placing my order, I decided to climb the stairs to the second level to have a look.

Elffin & Elffin - Stairs Leading to the 2nd Floor

I made the right choice, it was worthwhile spending the energy to climb the stairs. It has a homely, cosy feel.

Elffin & Elffin - Near the Stairs

There are some comfy armchairs along the railing. The red and green comfy sofas added more colours giving a even warmer effect. As currently, Elffin & Elffine is featuring Jade Mai “Isolation” series, you can view the pictures that are on the walls.

Elffin & Elffin - At the side with a piece of art

Jade Mai is a 21 years old Vietnamese currently in her final year of Bachelor of Arts (Hon) majoring in Fashion Media and Industries at LASALLE, College of the Arts. To me, the photographs at first glance looks ghostly. Subsequently, the feel is pitiful and the main portraits in the photo seems sad and lonely. Anyway, that’s how I feel towards the photos. I am not trained in the arts so maybe wrong. For reader(s) who are well versed in art, enlighten me if I was wrong.

Elffin & Elffin - Second Level of Cafe

My order was the banana chocolate chips muffin and the cappuccino. Did you see the enormous amount of melting chocolate chips on the muffin? Not only on the top but lots of chocolate chips inside the muffin too. So much so till I can hardly taste the banana in the muffin.

The coffee was great. It has a rather full and round body with medium aroma and it has a strong blackcurrant taste in the coffee too. The blackcurrant taste is so distinctive. At the first sip, the entire blackcurrant flavour filled the mouth. You may not be able identify or pinned point the taste but you will surely pick up the interesting distinct taste. Try it and you will know what I mean.

Elffin and Elffin is a cosy cafe serving great coffee. Foodwise; simple, nothing fanciful. There are some sweets and savoury pastries and cakes. It is definitely a great haunt with friends. A bonus for the art lover to admire the arts.

One more bonus, there is free WiFi in the cafe too.
