In Search of High Tea in Beijing, Capital M Beijing

Capital M Beijing high tea is very popular and it has pretty good reviews. I should test it out to find out myself.

I have always like high tea. Whenever I am in a city, I like to search for a comfy cafe or restaurant that serves great delicious pastries or cakes. If they have good scones, that would be a bonus.

Capital M Beijing

On a weekend when I decided to enjoy the high tea at Capital M, Beijing, I did not have a reservation, as it was impromptu so I have to be early. I was at the restaurant at 3 pm sharp, just when the high tea started and I managed to get a seat for high tea.

Capital M - Utensils

The restaurant was pretty comfortable and it has free wi-fi. For the afternoon tea at the restaurant, there are two choices to choose from; the high tea (RMB 138) or the tea and scone set (RMB88). I chose the high tea set.

Capital M - Hi-tea

The high tea was served in a 3-tier. On the top was the sweet pastries and cakes, middle was scones (served with jam and clotted cream) and on the bottom was the savoury, sandwiches. Coffee or tea were served as part of the high tea set.

The sandwiches were fine and scones were pretty good. The sweet pastry and the fruit tart were a little disappointing. Overall, I still enjoy my time spent at Capital M Beijing with good service provided by the staff.

Reservation is highly recommended. You can make your reservation over the website or call them.
