Curry Wok At Coronation Road, A Humble Restaurant Serving Food With Lots Of Love - Ala Carte Menu

Curry Wok At Coronation Road, A Humble Restaurant Serving Food With Lots Of Love – Bukit Timah, Singapore

Location of Curry Wok is somewhat hidden. As a result, most don’t know about them. Unless, either you stay around or frequent the vicinity. Alternatively, it might be someone introduced you to this unassuming humble family-run restaurant. We belong to the latter.

Curry Wok started from Cat Tan’s Mother-in-law. She is the current owner, running the F&B business with her hubby. The restaurant started at Tanglin Road with the entire family working in the restaurant cooking their signature dishes for the guest.

Hence, on the menu are signature items of their family member. Through the years, the menu expanded to cater to diners preference and request.

Curry Wok At Coronation Road, A Humble Restaurant Serving Food With Lots Of Love - Interior

First and foremost, the must order is the Hainanese Pork Chop ($12). Though the family is Nonya Teochew, this dish is well-loved by their customers, including my friend who doesn’t like Pork. Thinly sliced well marinated pork with a thin layer of crispy batter was extremely tasty. I can’t stop after I started my first slice.

Curry Wok At Coronation Road, A Humble Restaurant Serving Food With Lots Of Love - Nonya Chap Chye

Yet another signature dish is the Nonya Chap Chye ($10). This dish certainly reminded me of my late maternal Grandmother. If you don’t like soggy vegetable, this might be for you. The texture was simply perfect in my opinion.

Curry Wok At Coronation Road, A Humble Restaurant Serving Food With Lots Of Love - Curry Fish Head

Our last dish was the amazing Curry Fish Head ($26) which is best with rice. I am very fussy with fish, however, I love this one. The fish was cooked at perfect timing. It was at the perfect doneness.

NAHMJ Verdict

If you are longing for home-cooked food, I highly recommend Curry Wok whose chef certainly cooked with lots of love and passion.
